In 1939 when Arnold Kaehler was grinding wheat on a farm in Red Wing, Minnesota, the casing on his portable mill broke. Some of the outer wheat layers sifted through by mistake, creating a fine flavor that was loved by many.
Sturdiwheat is still made in Red Wing, MN with the same process that Mr. K used.

Started in 2015 in Faribault, Minnesota by accident when Craig Kaiser accidentally received habanero peppers instead of jalapenos.
All peppers are sourced within 20 miles of the Faribault facility- in 2024 processing 11 tons of organic peppers all locally grown.
